Today, Cloud Journey Group turns five.
It’s surreal to write that out. What started as a leap of faith—a few of us, working from spare bedrooms during the chaos of 2020—has grown into something far more meaningful than I could’ve imagined at the time.
This milestone isn’t about headcount or revenue or client logos. It’s about the people—our team, our clients, our partners—who’ve trusted us, challenged us, and helped shape this journey into what it’s become.
I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built. I’m even more grateful for who we’ve built it with.
And we’re just getting started.
Starting With a Belief, Not a Blueprint
When we founded CJG, we didn’t have a fancy launch plan. We didn’t have VC funding or a marketing engine. What we did have was a belief: that small and mid-sized businesses deserve better from their consulting partners.
We’d seen too many projects fail—not because the tools were bad, but because the process didn’t make sense. Too many SMBs were left behind by enterprise-minded firms. Too many Salesforce orgs were implemented without strategy or context, leaving clients frustrated and boxed in.
We knew we could do better.
So we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
We focused on listening first. On solving real problems, not just building to spec. On treating business software not as a destination, but as a tool to enable better business.
That belief still guides everything we do.
Growth Fueled by People and Process
The team we have today? It’s the best part of this whole thing.
Over the past five years, we’ve grown from a small group of “do-what-it-takes” generalists to a team of smart, thoughtful professionals who genuinely care about their craft—and about each other.
We support clients in professional services, healthcare, energy, and more. We’ve built expertise across Salesforce, Certinia, and an incredible partner network. But the thing I’m proudest of?
We’ve built trust.
• Trust from clients who stay with us year after year
• Trust from partners who count on us to bring their solutions to life
• Trust inside our team—where collaboration and transparency aren’t just words, they’re how we operate
It hasn’t all been easy (starting a company in 2020 certainly had its moments). But we’ve scaled with intention. We’ve stayed grounded in our values. And we’ve kept people and process at the center of it all.
Milestones That Matter
Building a Team We’re Proud Of
We’ve gone from “who can wear the most hats” to a deep bench of experts with shared values. We’ve built a culture where people support each other, challenge each other, and actually enjoy the work we do together. That’s not easy—and it’s not something I take for granted.
Trusted by Clients Who’ve Outgrown One-Size-Fits-All
Some of our very first clients are still with us today. That alone says everything to me. We don’t chase short-term wins—we build relationships that last because we treat our clients like partners, not projects.
Becoming a Go-To Partner for Complex Fixes
There’s no glory in being the second (or third) team brought in—but we’ve become the ones clients call when something’s not working and no one else can figure out why. And we take a lot of pride in that.
Giving Back Through Tech for Good
One of the best things about building CJG is getting to support causes that matter. From Cowtown Warriors Ball to Dallas Children’s Charities, we’ve donated our time and resources where we can. We’re proud to be a company that gives back.
Earning the Trust of Our Ecosystem
We’ve built strong partnerships—with Certinia, Avalara, Asperato, GoMeddo, Box, and others—that allow us to offer more complete, powerful solutions for our clients. These aren’t just integrations—they’re relationships built on mutual respect and aligned goals.
Evolving from Implementers to Advisors
Early on, we were brought in to build. Now, we’re often brought in to advise—sometimes even before software has been selected. Helping clients think through their process and strategy before a single line of automation gets written has been one of the most rewarding shifts in our evolution.
A Culture Worth Building
If there’s one thing I hope people feel when they work with us—whether as a client or a team member—it’s that we care. About quality. About outcomes. About people.
We’ve worked hard to build a space where consultants can do their best work—without burnout, office politics, or performative nonsense. Where people are seen, supported, and celebrated.
We’re a value-driven company that's committed to doing the right thing, even when it’s not the easiest thing. That includes the clients we choose to work with, the partnerships we grow, and the time we dedicate to mentoring others in the ecosystem.
Looking Ahead
So what’s next?
We’ll grow, but we won’t chase growth just to grow.
We’ll hire intentionally, expand our offerings, and keep investing in our team.
We’ll continue to help SMBs compete with confidence.
But most of all, we’ll keep doing what’s worked since day one:
→ Listen first. Solve second.
→ Build trust. Deliver value. Repeat.
To every teammate who’s helped us get here—thank you.
To every client who believed in us—thank you.
To every partner who sees our vision—thank you.
Here’s to five years of cloud journeys. And to the next chapter ahead. 🚀
